Stapler hemorrhoidectomy, also known as stapled hemorrhoidopexy or the Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids (PPH), is a surgical procedure that uses a specialized stapling device to remove hemorrhoidal tissue and reposition the remaining tissue. Covidien skin staplers, specifically the Appose™ ULC single-use models, are used to close skin wounds by delivering rectangular stainless steel staples. The stapler is designed for one-time use, and the staples penetrate the skin and are then formed to hold the tissue together. These staplers are designed for ease of use and can be fired from various angles.
